After reading that article I will get a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher.

About 2 years ago our children discovered that we didn’t carry any emergency communications. The three of them made us promise to remedy that. We now carry a PLB so our safety kit is complete. I cannot say how many times we have bumped into non-overland recreational OHV’s that were way out carrying a dangerously minimal amount of safety gear.

I went through the NOLS Wilderness First Aid course a couple of weeks ago and it is extremely valuable for situations when rescue services either can’t be reached (e.g. no cell coverage) or are hours and hours away. They go through about making the hard decisions when there is no optimal solution, when you need to evacuate or can go on, as well as handling common injuries such as cuts, scrapes and broken bones in outdoor conditions.

I’m in the middle of a build right now. This post will be my guide. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
